Sound problems with Chrome 24 on Mac OS X 10.8.2

From time to time I notice that switching from my audio local source to my Airplay station (and the other way around) somehow muted the sound on Chrome. After some googling I noticed that the problem came from a flash player plugin. You just need to disable it.

For this go to chrome://plugins, Show details an then disable the PPAPI plugin located in:

/Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/24.0.1312.52/Google Chrome Framework.framework/Internet Plug-Ins/PepperFlash/PepperFlashPlayer.plugin

Disable CephX for v0.55 and higher

A lot of new features came with the version 0.55 of Ceph, one of them is that CephX authentication is enable by default. If you run v0.48 Argonaut without CephX and want to update to the latest Bobtail, you might run through some problems if you don’t edit your configuration file.

Happy New Year 2013

2012 was a really exciting year full of good stuff. But 2013 is already well on its way, so let’s not waste time and jump right in to whatever 2013 may bring!

First of all, I wish to everyone that reads this article a Happy New Year. I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now, but I’ve been really active and focused since March 2012. My contract at Stone-IT / Smile will end in March. As of April I will be joining eNovance as a Cloud Engineer.
